The third and final part of my X6 boss rush.
Individual Boss Comments:
High Max Round II - This fight is sorta the opposite of the first battle with this chess piece shaped bastard. Figuring out how to get around that barrier is probably the hardest part of the battle, and the route I take is the one that helps this battle not last for-fucking-ever. Jumping over the barrier is pretty tricky, but within a few attempts, it becomes second nature. His desperation attack is oddly enough an easier version of the one he used in the first battle, but it's still pretty tricky to dodge despite this.

Gate - Gate is far from the hardest boss of the game, but he is the biggest technical challenge. Because the way you have to harm him is so different from any other boss, and the amount of variables in this fight, this is a very uncertain battle. All of the orbs are a pain in some way. If not for their attacks, than for the sheer fact that they can easily corner you. Maybe you'll escape some of the situations the orbs can put you in, as long as you're lucky enough to have Gate hover right into you while you're doing so. The orange and red orbs deserve the biggest shoutout. these two are absolutely fucking annoying. The red orb in particular clogs up the speed of your inputs in such a way that half the time, shooting the damn orb once it's effects activate is a total crapshoot. I also encountered an issue in that the orbs seem to love exploding without spreading debris upon getting destroyed by charged shots with no consistency. Lost quite a few attempts to that.

Sigma - So, this is the final boss at the end of this long, arduous road. Is he hard. Of fucking course he is, you think I'm that lucky? Sigma's first form seems to decide between being languorous and fucking ballistic at the drop of a hat. It's not that the the green wave, the bullets, or the purple projectiles are that hard to dodge on their own, but when he combines the former with either of the latter, things become problematic fast. The second form is of course, the main talking point here, because holy shit is it a pain. The little Sigma heads he spawns are annoying, not only do they fill the fucking screen with shots, but they can also make dodging Sigma's attacks way more difficult. The two laser attacks are not much to talk about, but the main attraction here is the energy orb attack. This attack is somehow even worse than the debris sucking and purple cubes that defined the prior two game's Sigma battles. Besides the fact that it's impossible to dodge if he fires it downwards, Sigma fires it instantly, and you've got NO wiggle room as far as leading where Sigma fires it. Jumping too early or late is a death sentence, and even when the spike platform is available to make the orb dodgeable if it's fired at the floor, sometimes the Sigma heads make that more difficult than it needs to be. This caused me more headache than any other Sigma fight, and that's saying ALOT.

And there we have it. Now that that's over, I'm preparing to return to my usual content, so until then, I hope you enjoyed and thank you for the patience and putting up with the um, length it took to get this out. Even though it defined pain and frustration, this was still a very fun project to undertake and I enjoyed it very much.
