Project: Mega Man X6, where I'm taking No Damage with Zero on Xtreme Mode. Note that parts will be used once they're acquired, so this isn't a minimalistic run or anything. Either way, whether you like X6 or not, hopefully you'll find enjoyment from this run. Thanks for dropping by.

Friggin' Nightmare Murderfucker (thank Kevassa02 for unintentionally making me think up that nickname, lol). I REALLY hate this thing. Central Museum was the worst stage in the game. Meet Nightmare Mother, the worst boss in the game...

I won't mention too much about the stage itself. It's really not all that hard with both characters, contrary to popular belief. No RNG in sight and maneuvers for the hazards are easy to memorize after some practice.

BUT NIGHTMARE MURDERFUCKER CAN SUCK IT.

How does one boss function ENTIRELY on RNG? From it's first movement to whatever it wants to attack with, you CAN NOT predict what this thing will do. The only thing you've got going here is that if you do a super jump from the start, you'll almost always be in a position to react to whichever direction it decides to start it's movement. I should note that since this is on Xtreme Mode, it goes into it's maximum travel speed from the VERY start as opposed to speeding up after 50% HP on Normal Mode. And to make matters worse, it can shoot those tiny blue spheres from it's eyes at random and as many as it wants during the travel phase. Sometimes, it shoots spots on the screen that's literally undodgeable because the shot would be in the only spot you CAN retreat from it tackling you. What kind of design is that?

How about when both are on the ceiling and the eyes emit those large blue spheres, eh? Whatever shoots out those spheres are also random: fire that covers the entire floor similar to Squid Alder (AKA Volt Kraken) from X5, as well as homing shots and lightning that strikes at random. This shit can turn into Touhou fast if you get an unlucky combo.

...But how about I stop beating around the bush and explain this exploit I've been teasing for too long? As shown in the video, if you get lucky enough for Nightmare Mother to land one of it's two halves on the floor and it's eye decides to come out towards you, you can exploit Rekkoha's freezing properties to get free shots out with Yammar Option. Yammar is the only weapon that can freely be controlled/shot while Rekkoha's going on, because the dragonflies are unaffected by the freeze and you can just mash square to your heart's content until Zero's able to move again. Fire off another Rekkoha and freeze that murderfucker again until the eye blows up. This freeze works on practically everything in the game and it forces an enemy to pause their current action, then resume it once they're unfrozen. Doing this exploit at this exact moment where it's firing the homing shots is the most optimal because it fires a total of four shots and if you freeze it, you can just wail on it before it can even fire it's second or third shot (or before it even shoots the first if you're impatient. But you'll burn through an extra Rekkoha if you do it too early). So if Nightmare Mother gives you similar patterns like shown in the video, you can dispose of it stress free.

I repeat, IF it gives you these patterns. Good luck with that...

Still, I'd imagine outside of a No Damage run like this and you're just wanting to kill this thing to move on, the Yammar + Rekkoha exploit makes this fight stupid-easy with Zero.

-Hyper Dash
-Master Saber
-Jumper
-Powerdrive

To explain what the ending difficulty analysis means:

Enemies - My ranking from a scale of 1 to 10 (from easiest to hardest respectively) on how difficult the enemies in a stage are. (NOTE: For this Boss Rush at the end of the run, I'll count the Maverick re-fights as enemies).

Platforming - Ranking for how platforming in a stage (i.e. Stage Hazards, Obstacles, etc.) affects the difficulty score.

Boss - Self-Explanatory.

The Overall Ranking's determined by averaging all three categories instead of just adding the numbers together. There's an exception to this, however. If any category warrants a 10/10, the overall score will raise to 10. This is because if at any point a stage puts me in the mindset that it feels like a 10, then the whole stage will be treated with the same difficulty overall because it isn't a very easy experience overall.
