A simple playthrough of Mega Man X8 featuring the Pitch Black stage, where the boss maverick is Dark Mantis (Darkneid Kamakil in Japan). This stage is unique in a way that "stealth" is the key to beating it. Players must avoid the spotlights in order to avoid detection as well as to make use of their keen senses as the level is very dark as its name suggests.

Dark Mantis can be beaten using the weapons obtained from Optic Sunflower (Shining Ray for X, Tenshouha for Zero, and Ray Gun for Axl). Defeating him will give X the Shadow Runner, Rasetsusen for Zero, and Black Arrow for Axl.
