I fight against Grand Khotep Muer without losing a single life, using just the standard part set. Muer himself isn't really that much of a challenge, as he only has 2 lives, and he seems to lack any hard-hitting moves such as Pound or Spinkick. Rather, his abilities of choice, Viral Slice and Virus Mine, are designed more for dealing damage instead of sending opponents flying off-stage.

The true challenge comes from the stage itself, which contains a number of gravestones that, whenever a player walks over them, cause Subprograms to emerge from them. While the Subprograms, like other normal enemies encountered throughout the game, are pushovers, compared to the bosses, you should try to avoid fighting them and Muer at the same time. When fighting Subprograms, be especially careful, as one of their moves, Shovel, while doing negligible damage, has extremely high knockback that will almost certainly KO you if you've taken more than 100 damage.

With that in mind, I lure Muer over to the hole on the right side of the stage, away from the Subprogram that Muer will spawn (although I was lucky that the Subprogram didn't wander into the hole where Muer and I were fighting). Coincidentally, the hole is a nice place to juggle Muer around to build up damage.
