I fight against Grand Khotep Scarb without losing a single life, using just the standard part set. Although Scarb's only recovery move is the Tornado ability, which only moves horizontally, he also possesses the Spinkick and Pound abilities. One thing that you should be especially careful of is his Megabyte Punch ability. While you should have plenty of time to react to it, getting hit by one, even at full health, could spell disaster if you lack any extra jumps or recovery moves. It's so powerful, in fact, that it almost broke my shield (which doesn't have any shield boosts).
