Many Gamers remembered that Megaman 9 was nothing but Pause Spamming for optimsation during levels and boss battles. Unfortunately on Megaman 10 switching to a different weapon or cancelling a weapon by the Weapon Select menu ADDS up to your timer. So the fastest runs had to use the L & R (or A & B on Wiimote) buttons to quickly switch to a different weapon. It works really well for players knowing the order of the weapons and fast reaction times to execute them. However, pausing the game by going to the Pause Menu (Retry. Exit, etc) freezes the timer. This means that players can pause buffer and makes fast weapon switch a whole lot easier. This is also useful for Cancelling Solar Blaze (you can only get 1 shot on the screen at a time so Weapon Cancelling by Quick Switching is faster than waiting til you can get another shot).

This trick works well on a Wiimote but I find it hard to use it on the Classic Controller mainly because of how the buttons are laid out (Minus button, D-pad and L & R),

Fortunately when playing through a replay on Time Attack they 'cut out' the Pause Menu moments so the speed on Quick Switching looks like it's TAS :p.

Uses:
* Easier to cycle through weapons on a Wii Mote
* Easier to change weapons constently on some areas (say T.blade followed by C.Spike and then R.Striker)
* Much easier to optimise Weapon Cancelling (vital when Facing Chill Man, Bright Man W.Archive and Wily Machine 10).
