Phantom, ladies and gents.
Boss: Phantom - 00:11
Phantom is by far the hardest Guardian to fight here in my opinion, this guy is very fast, hard to predict and counter and has a myriad of attacks that will mess you up real good. It's no wonder he's infamous among casual players.
I fought Phantom *extremely* aggressive and took far more risks because you have to deal with him right at the start instead of at the end of a mission.
If you wonder why I saber slash the air it's in case Phantom decides to dash at me, he can do that attack 1 to 3 times on a row, so if I'm at a certain distance from him I just assume he can and will do that.
The clone attack is one of the more annoying things to deal with in this fight, if you hit the wrong one it explodes possibly damaging you and Phantom will try to stab you from above. However if you let the clones there and stand close enough to the real Phantom he will lunge at you ending that move.
The perfect opportunity to rack some serious damage is when Phantom decides to use the shuriken riding attack, if you're fast enough you can get 3 free slashes on him and another one with the Triple Rod. Phantom never changes where he throws his kunais, so it's safe to attack him from those positions.
Phantom's desperation attack is a royal pain in the ass. He becomes invisible and throws kunais around, you must hit him until he ends that move. As if that wasn't bad enough if you damage Phantom too close to you, you'll take contact damage, hence why I play safe with the buster.
The mission that comes after Phantom's battle is fair simple, but just like the boss will be annoying for first time players.
Some of the bombs are hidden out of the normal path of the level, but thankfully they had the decency of not placing any in the branching paths at the start here.
Cutting wires carefully or inserting codes to defuse bombs? That's for wussies. Real badasses defuse bombs by slashing them with laser swords or poking them with a laser rod.
