Wow, what a delightfully surreal game in awesome pixelart clothes. You are an fruititastic artist in a kingdom of bright saturated colors and weird beings and needs to space out to imagine what the king needs while the talking face on your wall (instead of a TV?) tells you that it wouldn't even want to walk. Maybe Melon Head would want to stay in that realm where he finds his vision but nonetheless you go on the quest to find the ingredients for Melon Head's artistic vision and meet all kind of interesting characters and make new friends. You even visit a shop where the shopkeeper has a pet tongue. OMG, this is just the demo, but if I am not allowed to have the pet tongue lick a stamp for the letter in the full game I am very angry or ega plushy, that pet tongue really cracked me up, I wish it would talk!
One of the objects of the game is delivering a letter while the demo ends, but at around 33:40 in the longplay video we skip some of the first chapter and can get a peek into chapter 2 already...
All in all the whole presentation is really spot on, the game does what it wants to do really well. It is probably not a game for everyone but I totally love the wonderfully weird setting and the beautifully dithered very EGA like saturated pixel world the player gets thrown into.
There is a very cool and moody jazzy and 80s synthwavey soundtrack playing along, grounding your journey through the alien world accoustically.
The puzzles are fun to figure out and nothing all to otherworldly. I have no idea if I was just lucky with the fuse/electricity puzzle or it is designed to flow towards the solution but I went through that really good and it really felt like fixing a circuit on an alien planet :)

Synopsis:
In the hedonistic capital of His Majesty's Realm a faceless king commissions a local sculptor, Melon Head, our protagonist whose head is shaped like a melon, to craft an extension to His royal staff.

An extraordinary vision reveals an object of rare composition: A Crystal Iris Distillate. Pursuing the parts needed to craft the object essential in fulfilling the royal request, Melon Head precipitates to a strange adventure across His Majesty's Realm. He must use cunning, questionable morals and sharpness of intellect to succeed in his task and, ultimately, to choose between his allegiance to his perceived benefactor and the rising forces of dissidence seeking to overthrow the balance of power.

Melon Head is a fantastical point and click adventure set in a delirious imaginary world.
