Mental Omega 3.3.5 - Regenbogen Challenge on Hard AI Difficulty (Revised Battlefield Effects!)
Revisiting the older challenges and see if anything changed from them. For this particular challenge, its unique features have generally made the challenge harder for a ground-based assault. Fortunately, the naval and air unit strategy still prevails.
Notable changes:
ORANGE: REWORKED; Instead of repeating the previous battlefield effect, Zephyrs (in the battlefield and seemingly offscreen where they cannot be attacked) will bombard your base en masse through Zephyrobot. The main issue with this new battlefield effect is not its impact, but the FPS drops it causes, until the next effect happens.
RED: Inverted firepower now only affects your forces on certain areas rather than the entire battlefield, so your units can still continue with their assault/defense. A welcome change if you ask me.
CYAN: REWORKED; Instead of causing all units to be more fragile to enemies, it now causes Cryobeam support powers to activate frequently. For a ground-based assault, it is a major setback and can possibly be their demise.
GREEN: Aside from new artwork for Weather Crystals, these structures now attack with lightning storms (like Thor) instead of cryobeams. Deadly to groups of both air and ground infantry units. Also, Weather Crystals seemingly do not generate shroud anymore like Gap Generators.
PURPLE: Not much changed aside from Future Tanks Alpha can now spawn in either of its two modes, experimental beams + HE grenades mode or particle collider + HE grenades mode (though this applies to all Future Tanks Alpha on the challenge).
