I managed to confirm several things here I forgot to add in the addon review. First off, tripod does not pursue the player. It merely keeps an eye on them, and will fire if the player is within view and not hiding behind some wall. It can shoot through windows, and certain vehicles it seems to not notice the player even if they drive right into it.

It also has a tendency to fling vehicles that crash into it, likely due to collision issues with the hitbox rather than an actual feature. But it's funny nonetheless to see a car get yeeted.
