One thing's for sure, Metal Gear Survive definitely is not Metal Gear Solid 6. As a co-op zombie game set in an alternate universe, there's no danger of the events of this game affecting the official Metal Gear canon.

Fans are understandably upset, though, that Konami's first act as sole custodians of the Metal Gear franchise is something so different from what Kojima would have made. Still, given that it's so soon after the release of MGS5 it can't help but borrow a lot of the mechanics from that game. And we did love that game.
