♫METALLIC FIGHT (Crime Fighters) SNES Arrangement - NintendoComplete
This is my arrangement of the song "Metallic Fight," the BGM from stage 1 and 5 of Konami's 1989 arcade beat 'em up game Crime Fighters. It has been arranged for native playback on SNES hardware, and the audio was recorded directly from a launch-model SNES deck.
Released around the same time as the TMNT arcade game, on the same hardware and sharing one of its composers, you don't have to be told that Crime Fighters has an excellent soundtrack. I mean, this is Konami in 1989. It's safe to assume it rocks.
And oh man does it rock. I love this game's music. It's one of their earlier games that relies on that heavy combination of loud-PCM samples with FM synth, and it's pretty in your face about it. The game itself isn't too bad either - it's not the classic that the first Turtles game was, but it's still pretty damned fun, though it is pretty obscure thanks to it never being ported to a home platform.
Oh, and a fun little detail you might have not noticed... when the subway fight demo is playing, keep a close eye on the Hawaii advertisement on the back wall showing the woman in the bathing suit. She actually has a subtle animation - every so often she wiggles her hind quarters. Of all the little embellishments a game might feature, leave it to a game made in the late 80s to casually objectify like no other!
