Metroid Dread: Part 13: Giving the 5th E.M.M.I. the Cold Embrace of Death
After the X were released from Elun, those colorful gummi-like parasites have spread all across Planet ZDR, infecting all of its biolife in the process.
These infected enemies will last for the rest of this entire game, and they're tougher than their regular counterparts. On the other hand, getting energy and missile pickups from them will be much more plentiful, as Samus' Metroid DNA will allow her to absorb the X.
Time to travel through more of Ghavoran with the Super Missile and Plasma Beam, eventually finding its Map Room.
----------
Eventually, I find yet another Chozo Statue. This bares the newish ability called the Spin Boost. It's just a weaker version of Samus' Space Jump. You can only double jump once after her Spin Jump. You'll need this to help you reach distances both over and underwater, especially since using this underwater is more to suspend you in your jump for a bit longer rather than actually letting you go higher.
It's still way better to just find the Space Jump next, let alone the Gravity Suit.
----------
You will eventually fight another Chozo-X along the way. Just fight it the same way you fought the previous one on Elun.
There are pink mushroom platforms that you'll eventually encounter that will disappear in a second. This can get in your way of getting another Energy Part behind a Grapple Beam Block if you don't pull on it fast enough.
There's still also those flaming fungi that still can't be destroyed, but that will change very soon.
----------
It is at this point that, after traveling through even more of Ghavoran with your newer abilities, it is time to confront the Blue E.M.M.I. that guards the E.M.M.I. Zone of Ghavoran. Watch out for its vision, as it can freeze you if its bright blue light touches you.
Find the Central Unit and destroy it like before. Samus will absorb it for the 5th use of the Omega Cannon, and then it's time to go to town against that Blue E.M.M.I.
After destroying it, Samus absorbs it, gaining the new weapon of the Ice Missile. Yes, her Missiles get upgraded AGAIN this soon, but this also means Samus doesn't get the Ice Beam in this game.
Still, the Ice Missiles will freeze enemies solid, and then they can just get shattered to pieces with the Melee Counter if you want to.
This weapon is what you need to finally destroy that flaming fungi that keeps block your way in different rooms. As such, you can use this to go even further through this game. I have, however, seen some ways that players can work around getting the Ice Missile and having the Super Missile for a bit longer.
Now there's only two more of these robots left to worry about!
----------
After digging through a hidden tunnel, I have Samus find another Item Cube. This gives her the Pulse Radar. This is an Aeion ability that scans an entire room for hidden blocks.
As such, it's not completely needed, but it is helpful with cleaning out a room for 100% completion.
For the rest of this video, watch me use the Ballspark to get through a tight spot that I can't can pass with the Morph Ball alone.
