Metroid (NES) - Casual Playthrough - Finale: Taking Down Mother Brain
This is the Final Episode of my Casual Playthrough of Metroid for the NES! In this episode, I take down the Final Boss of the game, Mother Brain! This boss is a little tough because of the amount of things you need to account for, but I was able to take her down and beat Metroid!
Some people may be interested in what my thoughts are of this game, considering how poorly it has aged, so I'll give my two cents. Metroid for the NES in my opinion, is my favorite Metroid game. I know there are a lot of flaws with the game like spots that look the same, respawning with almost no resources, no map, very laggy areas, etc. Despite all that, when you go through the first Metroid when you know what you're doing, I find it super fun to playthrough this game. It's always fun finding new ways to do certain parts of the game in a different way than what was possibly intended by the developers. Like for example, being able to get the Varia Suit without the High Jump Boots, or being able to use enemies to get to areas to minimize backtracking. I always found that very fun about the first Metroid, it allows a lot of freedom when you know all of the interesting mechanics. Not only that, but I really do love the music throughout the whole game, especially Kraid's Lair which is one of the themes we got to hear the least of. I can say that this game is probably not for everyone, as the flaws that I mentioned can easily be a deal breaker for people who want to get into it. But I promise, once you learn how to beat the game in a fast and efficient way, it gets 100% better every time you play.
Anyways, now that I have finished up Metroid, I'll probably move onto another game/continue my playthrough for Zelda. However, there are still things in this game that I might want to show off, so in the future I might do an extra video, showing off cool things about this game.
