1Having passed through Magmoor Caverns and its lava pits, we now enter the polar opposite (literally) - the Phendrana drifts,
One of my favourite areas of the game due to the (mostly) stillness and excellent music, we explore as far as we can into the icy tundra, finding some new enemies, lots of new scans, and a bit more Chozo lore.
Oh, and a lovely Boost Ball upgrade (15:40, Phendrana Canyon).

Metroid Prime was the first game developed by Retro Studios, and was released in 2002 on the Gamecube in North America, with it following in Europe and Japan the following year. It was the first time Metroid had transitioned from 2D to 3D, and it proved a critical and commercial success.
Retro Studies went on to develop two sequels - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and still continue their profitable partnership with Nintendo today, developing Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mario Kart 7 and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze to date.
