Pretty much replaces my "Metroid Prime Thardus easily beaten" video. I entirely skip the Spider Ball until the end of the game where I have gotten the Phazon Suit and every Artifact (but the first one). Yeah, some fun stuff here. Here's how some of the items work:

Ice Beam - No effect due to Thardus being an Ice type enemy.
Plasma Beam - Major damage due to Thardus being an Ice type enemy.
Power Bombs - Since normal Bombs easily reveal the weak spots, Power Bombs just get rid of them and then some.
X-Ray Visor - Pretty much same as the Combat Visor for the battle. Not really that helpful.
Gravity Suit - Higher Damage protection
Phazon Suit - Weird radiation or something left behind in cutscenes. Even more damage protection
