Here's a walkthrough of me going through Metroid II: Return of Samus for the Game Boy. I am going for 100% pickups and am trying to beat it with the best ending. There is no sequence breaking in this game, as you can't get the main items out of order, but you can get a couple expansions early.

I go onward, eventually finding a measly Alpha Metroid. Another earthquake happens right after that, but apparently, the lava rose up. Seeing that I can't go anywhere else, I go back to where the Alpha Metroid was, and I end up seeing an Omega Metroid. Somehow, the Omega Metroid is actually easier than the Zeta Metroid, so that's pretty good news. I finish it off, another earthquake occurs, and I gain access to the second-to-last area.
