1After finding the Varia Suit,returned to Norfair. Now Samus can explore those rooms with extreme heat. After exploring the new areas of Norfair and finding a Map Station,you'll soon find the Wave Beam for Samus,allowing her shots to pass through solid objects. Use this to kill one of the caterpillar things ahead,and use bombs to kill the other one. You'll soon run into a pathetic boss called Spore Spawn I believe. All it can do is spit spores at you. You have to freeze the lone enemy flying around to be able to target the tentacles on the ceiling on both sides. It crashes through the floor once defeated,and you'll be able to reach Ridley's Lair. You can't get very far,so explore the short area and return to Norfair. That thing you defeated has made a tunnel,and evolved into a Giant Wasp! Best way to damage it is lure it down from the left side,then follow from behind,targeting his stinger with Missile barrages. It gets faster as it's hurt. Once it loses the stinger,run towards the wall to the left,and it'll crash into it and die,and you'll find Super Missiles! Now Samus can really start to explore Ridley's Lair.
