MHWilds Beta - New Insect Glaive, Chatacabra hunt
1So yeah the IG is going to take a while to get used to. I'm really lookin forward to MHWilds release, so I really want to get better with the IG. The new charge it has has me holding the B button while doing most of my actions and releasing it when I want to get the opening. The attack while it does a lot of damage leaves you open on smaller monsters and sometimes you just flash by them. Then you can transition into that aerial attack with the Kinsect to get as many buffs back as possible and get one more air action. The aerial focus attack I need to get much better at because I miss the wounds a lot and don't get back all my buffs immediately.
I really like the wound system, especially for getting the IG buffs back. Holding the L2 and then using RT is something I'm going to have to get used to because I don't like aiming with the RS and then having to hold B as well.. oh boy well I'm not against more difficult controls to do more. It's something I've done with RoR2 for a while.
A big complaint against the IG is the lack of aerial capabilities or rather just the ability to bounce indefinitely with the launch of the old attacks. While I do miss the aerial combat, it's still a great weapon for getting mounts on and you can still get your openings especially with the charged thrust downwards which leads into your other charge attack. The only thing I wish was different? That we were able to get that helicopter attack back on just the red buff instead of needing all 3, but it's just a minor gripe from me. Still like the weapon.
Oh yeah the new Duel Links season, I'll be grinding it later. Just this beta is taking my full attention at the moment.
