Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard now official

Microsoft now officially owns Activision Blizzard King and the biggest acquisition in the history of the gaming industry has closed, and suddenly it’s a new day in the industry.

As suddenly as it can be when this deal was first revealed at the [beginning of 2022,](https://www.psu.com/news/microsoft-announces-it-is-acquiring-activision-blizzard-in-mammoth-68-7-billion-deal/) only for it to go through months of ups and downs of will it or will it not go actually get approved.Microsoft has finally finished their attempt to buy Activision Blizzard and they now own Activision Blizzard King after the UK officially approves the purchases. Activision Blizzard will be the newest addition to Xbox Game Studios working on Exclusive Games for the Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S, as well as Xbox Game Pass. After an almost 2 year battle with regulators in the US (FTC) and UK (CMA), Microsoft officially has a clear path forward to complete the purchase for $69 Billion. This means Call of Duty, Diablo, World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, etc... are now part of Xbox's first party lineup. Activision Blizzard marks the 2nd major publisher Microsoft has purchased in the past few years following their acquisition of Bethesda which recently released the xbox exclusive Starfield.

Now, this means Microsoft owns a whole new wealth of IP, including **Call Of Duty, World Of Warcraft, Overwatch, Candy Crush Saga, Tony Hawk, Crash Bandicoot, Diablo,** and many more.
