The official name of this new simulator is just "Microsoft Flight Simulator" - making it an "evergreen" title that will stand the test of time - Microsoft can release new versions and updates without changing the name.
The new MSFS features a brand-new engine that includes support of the latest GPU hardware and software engines. The ground-terrain and scenery included in the simulator are based on real satellite imagery (based on Bing Maps technology) and really looks stunning.
