The new feature was discovered by Windows enthusiast @PhantomOfEarth in the latest version of the Photos app (version number 2024.11030.22001.0). Although Copilot is still in its early stages, it offers promising functionalities for a more streamlined photo experience.
Currently, Copilot can assist users in creating slideshows and setting photos as desktop backgrounds. However, its potential for growth is exciting, as Microsoft has been continuously adding AI-powered features to the Photos app. In November 2023, Windows Insiders gained access to features such as background removal, enhanced slideshow experiences, and a new timeline scrollbar for smoother navigation through photo libraries.
It is important to note that not all Windows users may have access to the new version of the Photos app with Copilot just yet.
