This has been a long time coming, since it was pretty difficult to get into. Usually I like to play new games for the first time in the video, but I had to break with convention this time because of the complexity and obscure interface of this game. Took a while to figure out how to actually play this game.

Midwinter is a mix of strategic and action elements, where you lead a guerilla force against an invading army on the island of Midwinter. This takes place in the middle of an ice age brought on by nuclear winter. The goal is to recruit other inhabitants on the island and undermine the enemy forces by sabotaging their infrastructure.

I didn't get far, since this is a very difficult and long term game. It is impressive especially for it's time. It if weren't for the inevitable low frame rate in the action modes, which makes aiming the gun difficult, this would be a very appealing game. Remake anyone?

This is a request by Slenkar, Trusteft Fawltykog and TheUngulable.

"Overlooked Oldies" is a series of let's play videos of retro games that I somehow never played back in the day. Many of them will be suggestions made by subscribers, particularly on binary milestone request videos.

Intro music is from the classic "cracktro" by SCoopex. The full version can be heard and seen here:
