I wasn't sure if I was going to do this run because Venom and Camouflage are such powerful abilities, and this game is so much shorter than its predecessor (meaning upgrades are less impactful overall), that I didn't think it would be an interesting enough challenge. However, by adding a few additional stipulations I found ways to make it pretty engaging.

I refrain from using Venom throughout most of the run. I can't call it a "no Venom" run because I wasn't super diligent about it, especially early on, and the game forces you to use Venom so much as part of tutorials, puzzles, and QTEs. Some of that could be cut down by doing this run on NG+, but that would mean doing a No Upgrade run twice, effectively, and you still can't remove certain elements, like charging the engines during Phase 2 of Roxxon Rhino. Still, I was surprised to learn how many instances you can get by without it.

I also cut gadget use down to nothing but the basic webshooter. This is something I really didn't limit in my Marvel's Spider-Man run, but it felt more appropriate here. Miles' gadget selection isn't as wide anyway, and cutting them out adds some extra challenge in stealth encounters.

Nothing super exciting in this segment. These early parts of the game pretty much play out like they always do since upgrades wouldn't be a factor yet in any run.

I'm not doing any sidequests, like in my Spider-Man run, but it's worth noting here that even if I was trying to go for a 100% No Upgrade run... I can't because the spider-training missions automatically unlock free upgrades.

The game also forces you to learn Venom Smash with your first Skill Point, which greatly annoys me. I suppose you can interpret for yourself whether or not this means it counts as an upgrade or part of base Miles. I choose to consider it an upgrade, so I never use it for combat purposes (once again, it's required for certain puzzles and unavoidable).
