Police who patrol the Sovereign Base Areas of Cyprus have been taking part in their annual large-scale riot control exercise with the help of British Forces.

The SBA Police joined members of the Military Working Dogs unit and the RAF's 84 Squadron to refresh their riot skills.

Personnel from A Company and Fire Support Group, Second Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, based in Dhekelia, were drafted in to play the part of rioters.

The exercise took place ahead of potential protests by right-wing extremists expected to take place in January.
