A drift car is a vehicle used for drifting, a motorsport that involves intentionally oversteering a car to make it slide sideways around a corner. While any car can be used for drifting, some are better suited to the task than others:
Rear-wheel drive: Preferred because the back tires slide during drifting.
Low center of gravity: Allows for higher speeds and more velocity around turns.
All-wheel drive: Can be used if the system sends more power to the rear wheels or can be set to imitate rear-wheel drive.

Drifting originated in Japan in the 1970s, where enthusiasts called "zoku" would compete in illegal time trials on mountain roads. Over time, drifting has evolved into a precision driving display and is now a popular sport with fans around the world.
A key part of drifting is the tandem run, or "battle", where two drivers compete on the same track. The leader attempts to score as many points as possible, while the chaser tries to stay as close as possible without touching the leader.
