It becomes problematic when players start trying to interfere with other player's characters in the gaming group. I agree players role-playing their characters how they see them, but they shouldn't use that as an excuse to take away from another D&D players fun at the table. This may even require the Dungeon Master to step in and try to arbitrary on behalf of one of the players involved. It doesn't really matter if this is a Pathfinder Role-Playing Game, Dungeons & Dragons, or some other tabletop RPG it's important for everyone to mind their own fun without spoiling someone elses.
