This video has much better quality than my others I think... lol.
This is a video showing an elegant fully functional 8 bit memory block with parallel read and write capabilities with separate lines for reading and writing. From input at the 'write' parallels to lighting up the redstone lamps at the 'read' parallel is 2 seconds or less.
There's also a quick discussion on how this can be expanded to any desired size within the limits of minecraft.
