The minecraft scoreboard command can be pretty difficult, but in this tutorial I will show how to use the scoreboard command to make your own custom scoreboards!
The commands used in the video:

Create scoreboard: /scoreboard objectives add Armor armor
Show scoreboard: scoreboard objectives setdisplay list Armor

Create diamond ore mined scoreboard: /scoreboard objectives add Diamonds minecraft.mined:minecraft.diamond_ore {"text":"Diamond Ore Mined"}
Show diamond ore mined scoreboard: /scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar Diamonds
Create diamond ore placed scoreboard: scoreboard objectives add DiaOrePlace minecraft.used:minecraft.diamond_ore
Remove 1 from diamond ore mined: /execute if entity @p[scores={DiaOrePlace=1..1}] run scoreboard players remove @p Diamonds 1
Remove 1 from diamond ore placed: /execute if entity @p[scores={DiaOrePlace=1..1}] run scoreboard players remove @p DiaOrePlace 1

Remove scoreboard: /scoreboard objectives remove Diamonds
