Minecraft Light Bug: phantom skylight in large empty spaces

123Here is an analysis and fix for a lighting bug that has been causing big problems for custom maps. The bug causes large empty spaces to be filled with skylight, even if the space is not exposed to the sky.
UPDATE: I have created a mod that fixes this bug!
