Minecraft - Real 3D Model Vs In-Game Village
435Given the reaction and feedback we had from our original interview with Alexander Boden (of Siegen University in Germany), we thought we'd show you more. Namely how the village he created in Minecraft compares to the one he worked with colleagues, to output using a 3D printer.
Various things to notice here: all the torches are printed out purely as bright yellow blocks and there are not the same number of trees as seen in the in-game version. The reason for the latter is that with trees only having a one block thin stalk, these can break off very easily when the model is being cleaned off of all the excess powder. It's only when the super glue is applied that the model becomes stronger and more robust.
