Hello everyone! And here's another update on my Minecraft Rome Map.

In this series I will make small videos about the updates of my Minecraft Rome project. In this project I'm recreating ancient Rome in the year 200 AD. Currently I'm busy with what I call the 'Beautification Updates'. These updates are about changing various buildings to look better as well as placing them in the right position (I started building this project with a little lack of knowledge of the buildings which has forced me to fix all of this now :P). I hope you'll like the videos.

Forum of Nerva:
Originally built by emperor Domitian, the Forum of Domitian was the fourth and the smalles of the Imperial Fora. It was constructed to ease access to the Forum Romanum from the Subura district of Rome. The forum was built over the Argiletum road and would take over its role. The name of the forum was later changed from Forum of Domitian to Forum of Nerva because of the damnatio memoriae placed upon Domitian.

Because of the lack of space between the fora of Vespasian and Augustus, Domitian was required to change the standard layout of the forum in order for it to fit properly. Instead of the traditional covered hallway, the architect built two rows of pillars that were directly attached to the walls around the forum. Also the Temple of Minerva was only partially located on the plaza of the forum, the rest was behind the wall. The temple was the most important building on the forum. On the other side of the forum was the Arch of Janus. This arch, dedicated to the Roman god of doors, openings, the beginning and the end, served as a replacement for the Temple of Janus that Domitian ordered to be moved.

Located on the back of the forum was the Porticus Absidata, the half-round monumental entrance to the Imperial Fora and the Forum Romanum from the Subura district. Because Nerva only ruled the Empire for 15 months and didn't achieve anything memorable except his name on someone else's forum, the people of Rome soon started to call it the Forum Transitorium instead.

Next video will cover: Forum of Vespasian
