As noted previously, in contrast to the more open-ended boss design found in the overworld, TotK's Temple bosses are typically designed around the abilities of their respective sages: There is no point in using any sage other than Tulin during the Colgera fight, for example.

However, Mucktorok is something of an exception, in that Mineru's long reach (substituted for a Zora spear), ability to run over sludge without getting stuck, and (of course) free access to bullet time all offer substantial advantages against the former (particularly during the rematches in the Depths, which take away the Water Temple's reduced gravity nerf).

That stated, the range of a hydrant fused to Mineru's arm is not great. As most Internet denizens know well, players can fairly easily use standard Zonai parts to build contraptions that project water much more efficiently than either Sidon (the Zora sage) or Mineru are capable of doing on their own. (Alternatively, fuse splash fruits to arrows and start spamming!)
