I enjoyed Map29... but the final boss was a little annoying. At least until you figured out the timing.
...might do another extra video showing how much of a joke he is when using a source port. We'll see..
But yea.. the level design leaves much to be desired here. And that's mostly due to Sandy Peterson's levels being way too gimmicky, and thus VERY hit or miss. I remember saying I wasn't all that big a fan of Tricks and Traps, but that's honestly one of his better maps!
The additional content aside from the levels, though, that's where Doom II shines. The Arachnatron, Mancubus, Arch-Vile, Revenant, and Hell Knight are all very welcome additions to the roster of monsters. The Pain Elemental, a bit less so.. but it's a tolerable opponent.
And the double barrel shotgun, as I said in one of the early videos, is perhaps my favorite weapon in any FPS. VERY iconic, and very memorable after using it!
