Mint's Shiny Pokémon Journey - Part 1
After my playthrough in Pokémon Emerald, I decided to learn RNG Manipulation for the game. The goal was to get Pokémon from 3rd gen, and transfer them all up to Champions eventually and do a small ribbon challenge along the way. Being getting the ribbons I want to get versus all possible ones.
This is my journey, edited down and reduced to just the traveling, final resets before catches, but before that, I want to thank my best friend Jimmy (@IronXVI ) for doing the contest ribbons for all the 3rd gen Pokémon I got and managed to get the Painter Ribbons for all the Pokémon I am transferring up.
But a few things to note.
I'll post a pinned comment below this video with the resource videos I used to learn RNG manip.
None of these Pokémon in this video are for trade. They are for Champions eventually, I just needed a project to do before the game came out and as VGC wrapped up for me locally.
A device was used to unlock the tickets for the stationary Pokémon locations for the Emerald cartridges. That is the only thing done on that, the rest was done by myself and Jimmy to get all the ribbons in 3rd gen.
Yes, I really did the XD Gale of Darkness 100 battle Climb for all 42 Pokémon, 4 in each party at most after the first climb of 6. It took forever to do that, but I did do it. I will upload the initial climb later in another video.
As of the rendering of this video, I am currently in gen 6 for Ribbons stuck trying to get 6 Battle Maison Super Battle Ribbons for 6 select Pokémon. Since I can record battle videos in gen 6 and 7, I will later upload the important ribbon battles later in another video as well.
The last thing to note is that I do have everything on official hardware, no emulators were used. Between a GBA SP, Gameboy Player on the GameCube, GameCube, Wii, DS, a 3DS with Transporter and Bank and all the respective games I am aiming for ribbons. This has been the side project since I did Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness on stream back in April 2025.
Also, Feebas has a calculator to determine where it is likely on your game. I mixed records with my old game and that became null and void. So like it said in the start of the video, I fished for 3 hours trying to find the spot on my game. ): At least the hunt didn't take too long after that.
Also, there really is no reason to record things for the gen 4 ribbons I got, they were just Red’s Ribbon, which you can easily do with a Choice band Rayquaza and then they transferred up to gen 5, to hop onto X to do the E4 Ribbon and then go to Alpha Sapphire for a few ribbons like Super Training and Battle Maison. Next video generation wise would be of Gen 6 for the battle Maison wins.
With that said, hope you enjoy the first part of the Mint's Shiny Pokémon Journey. (:
