Mission 1: One Step at a Time | Sinking Cuban Navy | 688 (I) Hunter/Killer | Retro

In the previous episode, we completed the training graduation exercise: defeat another 688i in an undersea duel.
Time for our first mission, which is actually a simulation... since the scenario would not make sense otherwise.
Single Mission 1: One Step at a Time
Flash traffic. Cuban navy vessel attacked Miami. You are authorized to sink the Krivak frigate and the submarine escorting it, believe to be a Victor II. You are then going to conduct a retaliatory TLAM strike against a Cuban armory via the transmitted coordinates. EA will be in overall command (!?!)
We detected the submarine with the towed array, and we sent a torpedo after it, but our TMA continued to glitch and the torpedo ended up going much further than anticipated to find the target, but we did sink the submarine.
We sent two torpedoes after the Krivak, but neither can acquire the target. Our TMA was that far off. We ended up firing 2 Harpoons to take down the Krivak.
Finally, we programmed the TLAM with the proper coordinates and launched it, and it destroyed the armory as ordered.
Full 1000 points were awarded as we transmitted the post-mission report.
