MiSTer FPGA - Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior [E.Honda] / Capcom CPS-1 Arcade [BETA]
CPS1 arcade *BETA* 04-10-2020 build - Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior
Game starts @ 2:10 // E.Honda 1cc (Easy mode only in CPS1 BETA)
Filter: Scanlines(Bright)\110_85_Soft // Gamma: Poly 2.4
Settings: Integer scaled to 1080p // HDMI to Datapath e1s capture card
Filter is perhaps a little bit soft, considering how much detail is in this game's character sprites. I'll do sharp scanlines and non-scanlined scaling with integer and fullscreen, in future playthroughs. Might bump gamma up a notch also, as there is a bit of a faded look to the video that this may help with.
Soltan G42, whom made the MiSTer video filters, along with the 'hybrid' scanline filters, says he is working on a medium-sharpness set of the 'hybrid' filters, that will likely be better suited in a situation like this. This should be better than using the current sharp variant, which IMO are a bit too sharp and give a somewhat "artificial" look to the image, for lack of a better word.
=- Other playthroughs with different graphics filters/scaling applied: -=
Chun-Li - Gaussian Sharp Nearest Neighbor 06 & 2.5 gamma: https://youtu.be/ouO-NuMpKJ4 ***
Ryu - Fullscreen scaling, Gaussian Sharp 06 & 2.5 gamma: https://youtu.be/f-BPaC7JgbE
*** My first upload of the Chun-Li video was removed by youtube for violating community guidelines! Currently I'm appealing this, but it may be a while until that one is visible. Perhaps the thumbnail of a 16-bit game character doing a special move is too sensitive for modern audiences? ^ - ^
I uploaded the raw Chun-Li video file here if you want to see it still, but it is 1.5gb:
