I thought the sharp scanlines looked considerably better than the softer ones in this game. There's a good amount of detail in those anime-style characters, and a bit too much of it gets lost with the softer filter. Love this game, and the Alpha series in general.
(EDIT: still too sharp. try the medium test filter linked above for something better)
