I have a MiSTer! Let's try out a classic Super Nintendo game. To celebrate the upcoming R-Type Final 2 launch, I'm playing Irem's Super R-Type from 1991, which is a remixed port of R-Type II. This game famously drops the frame rate a lot, and this video clearly shows this. It's still fun, and playing on NOVICE is pretty easy.

The original R-Type is one of my favourite games of all time. It's a scrolling shooter where you slowly drift through spooky space locations, packed with horrific aliens and their weaponry.

The MiSTer is a FPGA-based open source emulation system that emulates a large variety of computers, consoles and arcade games from the 1990s and older.
