I love A Link to The Past.
The Legend of Zelda has been a series I've tangled with a few times in my life. Though the two NES entries are rather foreign to me, I did get my start with this game when I was just a child, wandering around without much care for what I was doing and lost at what to do. It wouldn't be until Super Smash Bros. came out on the N64 (coincidentally this recording happened on the day Smash Ultimate was announced at E3 2018) where I got acquainted with the idea that I was playing with a dude named Link and not some Zelda, who was a princess. Reading comprehension is good, kids.
I was gearing up to play the N64 entries and I took more time to acclimate myself to this one, getting the hang of mechanics and even managing to make it to the Dark World! Once I had completed Majora's Mask, I went back to put this one to bed once and for all. And it was a rewarding time to see that ending after so long.
This game is legendary for establishing many of the series' tropes and themes and holds up incredibly well today. Also we're playing as a girl named Chain today. Link was out sick.
