Hear me out!
I´ve put an arrow in the video to point at where you should be looking. The timer indicates if a hacked item has been fired or not. It becomes 00:00:000 if yes, otherwise it shows the regular time. Pay close attention when I hack a mushroom, Xylon fires his hacked items or I fire legit items. ;)

The timer is just a mask and DOES not modify anything besides the (fake) display. No effect in race! Real timer is untouched.

How it works?
The code listens for ANY fired item and compares with all items anyone has received legitly during the race (spy item hack). Then checks if anyone in the room really is holding such an item and decides to alert or not. Sounds unreliable, but it works really well if you think about it even longer. Hacked items won´t stay undetected.

No game lag, no USB Gecko required.
