It's the mod that started it all! HobMod was invented by the guys who would eventually come around to creating the community modding tools. HobMod is an interesting game balance in which doctrine takes precedence over mechanics. That is to say, they make the game how the power's intended it to be, instead of how it actually was. NATO starts with a 1-point advantage because in the original war doctrine it was presumed Russia would be an unstoppable juggernaut and NATO would have to hold on long enough for reinforcements.
