The Ministry of Defence has signed a £180 million contract for a new Light Protected Patrol Vehicle. The Foxhound vehicle is designed to provide better protection from IED blasts and is the replacement for the controversial Snatch Land Rover, which was seen to be vulnerable to roadside bombs. The vehicle, which has been designed by Force Protection Europe was created to allow troops to carry out tasks in environments that restrict larger, heavier vehicles.
