On this day 25 years ago, one of the most influential video games of all time hit the Japanese market for the original PlayStation. Since then, it has not only gone down in history as one of the greatest video games of all time; it has also spawned an entire multimedia sub-franchise which (among other things) include prequels, sequels, animations and even a high-definition remake. Needless to say the seventh mainline entry in the long-running 'Final Fantasy' franchise will continue to be an iconic juggernaut for years to come.

And yes, that's totally "One Winged Angel Rebirth" from 'Final Fantasy VII Remake' playing in the background.


This is a free-for-all stock battle between Sephiroth (P1) and three different CPU-controlled variations of Cloud: one in his default FFVII outfit voiced by Cody Christian (AKA the English VA for 'Final Fantasy VII Remake'), one in his alternate AC outfit voiced by Takahiro Sakurai (AKA the Japanese VA for pretty much every piece of media that Cloud has appeared in since 'Kingdom Hearts', including this game) and one based on his appearance in 'Kingdom Hearts' voiced by Steve Burton (AKA his English VA for most pieces of media between 'Kingdom Hearts' and 'Dissidia Final Fantasy NT' that Cloud has appeared in).
