Had trouble finding a setup that represents the amp in the room closest since closemicing wouldn't be the right thing to do. Settles for the Zoom H2n but now my voice is quite, so i apologize.

The Vox Pathfinder 15 has been a known underdog for a while and for good reason. i Had some mods done to it by Lars:
1. added speaker output
2. replaced all the opamps for lower noisefloor and.. kinda just because why not
3. made the clipping LEDs switchable ON/OFF/ON and added UV-LEDs for another option. Having the clipping diodes off gives it a more natural and raspi bite and a little more headroom
4. replaced the opto-trem with a makeshift one that adds a little gain and depth to it when engaged.
4. modded the whole front with an Celestion Ten 30 10" speaker for a little more oomph.

My verdict: it's a fun little amp that has a nice character of it's own and with or without the mods punches way above it's weightclass. It doesn't have much bass response but it feels like a 5 watt tube amp, cuts niceley and is well audible. I don't find the high gain sounds very usefull without a boost infront and it does sound even better and much tighter with a 1x12" speaker hooked up to it.

What are your experiences with small sleeper amps?
