3Update on the Mercury Crew Elevator: Overall design is done, just adding the height variants and some details to be added afterwards. It is working already, and the 13.5m height is enough for the Bluedog Design Bureau Mercury-Redstone.
The design ended up being more like the Mercury-Atlas crew elevator/tower, with the upward-rotating crew access walkway. It still rolls back like the Redstone one, so it is indeed a blend. The actual Redstone elevator was in the service assembly structure, which enveloped the rocket...not real practical to do here, so I went with a walkway that has an adjustable extension for furthur fine-tuning.
