With Miyamoto taking the role of producer, you'd expect Mole Mania to be more widely known than it is. The game has a very simple concept of moving a black ball on each screen to the stone block goal. It sounds simple enough, but the game throws many obstacles at you that will prevent you from reaching that goal without some proper planning. The most basic method is to dig underground and emerge from an otherwise unreachable part of the screen, but the game continues to introduce genius twists to the puzzles as you progress. Some examples being weights that you can only push and not pull, and while they at first seem to be nothing more than obstacles blocking your path, eventually you will be using these weights to your advantage to force the ball to a stop after throwing it.

What's more is that the single screen progression really suits handheld play to a tee, and it's just fun to bust out your Game Boy and play a few screens during a break or something. The game will auto save after each screen. It's a good thing too as the levels themselves are quite long, maybe even too long.
