Monad Depths Final Boss, but it's not Alt | SRB2 Persona
[Intro]
In one of the more recent updates of Smart's pack, there's a toggle in the Netplay Options menu in which will let you choose to fight Alt like it would be normally, or you can choose to fight Flowey from Undertale who is basically the mascot character of the pack despite not being playable. Regardless of what you choose though, it still requires you to go through the RNG hellscape known as Monad; and you'll need to be *hella* prepared for this fight.
[Strategy]
This fight was initially not that bad my first go at it, but that was before Smart told me that I needed to load in both Bionis AND Bar Edits for the intended experience. Bar Edits in particular allows for some new kinds of fuckshit to occur. Now, it's much less of a boss fight, and more of a "how well can you out-cheat the cheater". I severely doubt an entirely vanilla team can do this and, dare I say I'd probably take a Luna boss any day of the week because at least they're more subtle about it.
First of all, there are three rules that are put in place when you fight him. You can't go Super, you can't be too slow with your damage output, and you can't deal too much damage with a singular attack. If you break any one of these rules at any point in the fight, he'll use Armageddon to instantly wipe out your party.
For the fight itself however, he'll usually start off by using an Almighty skill that temporarily lowers your max HP until you use an item specifically made to recover from it. I don't know if the effect carries over when a character dies, but you'll basically need to use the item right away if you have any hope of surviving without further hassle. From there, he'll usually spam either Samsara or Die For Me, so you'll also need to buy all the Homunculi you can afford. He'll also use a bullshit Elec skill that can crit while also maxing out his Agility. Luckily, Voidy, Ember, and Motobug are all equipped with skills that never miss. In Phase 2, he'll start summoning Personas that you'll have to kill in a timely fashion or else it'll also trigger Flowey's Armageddon, a la Demi-Fiend. The Personas have their own tricks up their sleeves, but I usually like to have Motobug try and inflict Rage on them because it can even get Flowey, albeit his melee attack being set to Megidolaon. Flowey himself will also start using an all-target Debilitate as well as his own version of Binding Cry. For some reason, he'll also use a skill that maxes out his Physical even though he doesn't intentionally attack you in this phase. Regardless, I often have my party members go Hyper here, mostly prioritizing FL Chan and Voidy, to protect them from Soul Jack. In the final phase, he'll switch to Izanagi-No-Okami and can use his trademark skill, Myriad Truths. He seems to be less aggressive with Dekakunda in this phase, so this would be the only actual good time to get your buffs. Unfortunately, he'll also start using attacks that inflict Bad Karma, so healing is an absolute must.
So in conclusion, if you're reading this, Smart: I'd kindly like to say "fuck you and the horse you rode in on".
