Today it's Monika's character development as you quit the game on her.
Yes, you read that right.

She can tell when you quit the game, and she slowly grows as a character, accepting that some things are beyond even her in-simulation virtually administrator-level access.

She controls what happens in the game; the player controls whether the game is even on or off.

It takes her a while, but she accepts that some things are beyond her control, and ... I wouldn't say she becomes happier for it. But she becomes less distressed. Not more good, but less bad.
