Monkey's Trail is the 2nd mission in the Sewer Port level. There are 35 Nitro boxes in this mission.

Area 1 - Oh No, Not Again (0:00):
Don't worry. This area is not nearly as long this time (thankfully).

Area 2 - Port (9:27): 11 Nitros
The Nitro box locations are the same as they were in A-Mazing Boxes.

After you're done collecting them, head over to where Nuke is. Knock down the banana that he's trying to get by jumping into it. Once he's gotten the banana, lead Nuke over to the crank near the picture of his face, jump onto the nearby box, and let Nuke raise you up.

Area 3 - Boxes In the Sky (2:03): 3 Nitros, 1 Hostage
When you reach the end of this area make sure you jump on the top level of the crank structure and not on the lower level because the lower part is where you started the area (yes, you go in a big circle just to end up 10 feet higher).

Hostage #1 (3:04): This hostage is pretty difficult to miss as you have to pass right by her. You can choose to kill the Pirat before freeing the hostage, but know that this particular Pirat has a large amount of health. While he might sucker punch you, you might be better off going right for the crank and leaving him alone like I do in the video.

Area 4 - All Aboard! (5:05): 4 Nitros
Kill the Pirat before you do anything else with this otherwise reasonably simple area. Leaving him alive will make this area a whole lot more annoying. You may wish to kill the rat with wings as well, but he's not as irritating.

Area 5 - Hold-ing Down the Bilge (5:56): 17 Nitros, 1 Hostage
Hostage #2 (11:23): The hostage is found at the end of this area. The crank to free him is found on the back wall of the same room, hanging over a large barrel floating in the water.

Area 6 - Boss Stage (11:59): Octowuss - Part 1 of this fight consists of you fighting off a horde of small octopus. After killing 20 of them the big Octo pops up in the center and the real fight begins.

The rest of the fight consists of you trying to hit the head of the big octopus with a TNT box while dodging its tentacles. There is 1 TNT box that has a straight path between it and the Octopus. I recommend using this TNT box exclusively. This is because there are only 2 nearby holes to have to worry about and you have a bit more room to run around dodging the tentacles.

It's best to grab the TNT box immediately after both tentacles have tried to hit you as that should give you enough time to grab the box safely. To make the box respawn you have to walk sufficiently far enough away. Getting close to the main body of the octopus is far enough.

Overall the tentacles are a lot to keep track of and you'll almost certainly die at least once. With that being said, this was the best strategy I could find to defeat the octopus.
